At height of the pandemic, I tried to learn UX design and got into biking.
Since I use the Strava app a lot, I decided to design new features for the app as a side project.
I used my bike sessions with friends to conduct user observations, gather insights, and validate my personal pain points with the app.
During my rides, I've encountered a recurring behavior and pain point among my group: Because of different experience levels, cyclists tend to lose each other during group rides.
Whenever this happens, members would pull over to the side, close the Strava app, and contact their groupmates by calling their phones.
What if Strava can make their riding experience better by solving these within the app itself?

Introducing Ride with Friends: A group ride feature that seamlessly integrates ride meetups, location sharing, and in-app calls.
